Giorgio Baiardi, the man behind Baiardi Industrial Engineering. In Ticino, he's known to be exacting. His career only confirms this character trait. The founder of Baiardi Engineering was born in Lugano and grew up in Neuchâtel, the cradle of watchmaking and micro-technology. The son of a Ticinese antique dealer, he studied micro-mechanics then started working as a technician for the Swatch group in the 1980s. After a period in the USA he returned to Ticino and worked for AgieCharmilles, a world leader in machine tools with EDM technologies, where he was employed as an engineer in R&D.

After 14 years in the industry, his experience and his passion led him to set up Baiardi Industrial Engineering. Since then Giorgio Baiardi and his colleagues have been designing and producing tools for industry and for the medical and watch-making sectors. Today the development department is active in diverse fields: machine tools; robotics; the automotive industry; the medical industry; watchmaking; design, consultancy, patents and in the creation of spin-offs.
